South Africa / Construction quotation
Construction quotation template for South Africa
Create a construction quotation that shows the work clearly enough for the client and contractor to understand what is priced. Capture project details, quantities, units, rates, exclusions and commercial terms before export.
Construction quotes need scope clarity
A total price without a clear scope leaves too much room for disagreement. Describe the work, location, measurable quantities and assumptions. Where useful, separate labour, materials or work packages so the client can understand what the price covers.
Use meaningful units
Use units that explain what is being priced, such as item, m², metre, hour, day or job. A number alone is not a useful unit. NexDocs flags weak line-item anatomy so the issued quotation is easier to understand.
Make exclusions visible
If demolition, rubble removal, electrical work, plumbing, access equipment, permits, client-supplied materials or other items are not included, state that clearly where relevant. Do not rely on assumptions that are invisible to the customer.

Frequently asked questions
Can I quote labour and materials separately?
Yes. Use separate line items or work packages where that makes the price clearer.
Is quotation validity mandatory?
No. NexDocs treats validity as optional because not every quotation requires an expiry date.
Can I create an invoice after the job is accepted?
Yes. NexDocs supports carrying relevant quotation information into an invoice while keeping the invoice as a separate document.
